Rangers top Royals in their Area Code Finales
Isaiah Smith showcased his offensive prowess by going 3-for-3, with an RBI and two stolen bases.
LONG BEACH—The Rangers beat the Royals 4-2 on the last day of the 2016 Area Code Games for upperclassmen.
Russell Smith impressed for the Rangers, pitching three innings with seven strikeouts. It was the Rangers’ second win at the showcase.
Brody Barnum had three strikeouts over two innings for the Royals. Barnum played outfield and pitched in the showcase.
“My mentality was to throw strikes and let the batters put the ball in play,” Barnum said.
