Eligible athletes are athletes currently in high school graduating in the years 2027, 2028, 2029 and 2030.

No, the Area Code AC ID Series are not Area Code team tryouts. The Area Code ID Series is an opportunity for high school athletes to showcase their ability, receive verified data as well as mechanical feedback to implement into their game from our Area Code staff. However, select participants from the ID Series will be invited to compete at an Area Code Tryout in the summer of 2027. In 2025, 85 athletes earned tryout invites from the ID Series, with 3 also earning an opportunity to play in the AC Select.

Despite not being eligible for an Area Code tryout, the ID Series events are still an excellent opportunity for 2027’s to get their latest data collected and distributed as well as receiving instant feedback and instruction from the professional scouts in attendance. Some players have even performed at a level to get a recommendation to a college from the scout who is running the event. The AC Select is a premier event that is available for top 2027s and 2028s. Invites to the AC Select Games have been earned through the ID Series in years prior.

The Area Code Identification Series events are $349 to attend if playing a field position. For PO’s the price is $299 and for players that would like to pitch and play a position the price is $399.

Yes. Top performers who display next-level traits from each Area Code ID event could receive an invitation to a regional tryout. All invites to the regional tryouts are determined by the MLB scout(s) at each Area Code ID event.

After warming up and being timed in the 30-yard dash, athletes will be broken out by their primary positions to start defensive work. Velocity will be captured with hitting and pitching evaluations to follow. Ball flight data will be captured by Trackman. Pitchers will throw 15-20 pitch bullpens where Trackman will be used to capture their metrics (velocity, spin rate, strike percentage, etc.). Players will have full access to their results following the event.

Comprehensive data reports featuring all athlete marks will be posted on areacodebaseball.com following each event. Typically, event data should be posted no later than three days following the day the event took place.

All players should bring a fielding glove, wood bat, batting gloves, cleats (see confirmation for specifics on whether they can be metal or molded), training shoes, hat, batting helmet and any other necessary equipment necessary for competition including pants, etc. Catchers should bring their own catcher's gear. You will receive an Area Code Baseball ID Series shirt upon check in to perform in and take home.

Payment for a camp is due in full upon registration. $75 of the total payment is non-refundable. There will be NO REFUNDS for cancellations of any reason within two (2) weeks of the camp date (includes injury, illness, schedule changes, school requirements, etc.). Transferring a registration to another Area Code ID Series date and location is allowable if a conflict should occur on the original date only if you request to do so outside the two (2) week window before the camp date. Transferring a registration from year to year is not allowable.

Players will only be assessed at one primary fielding position. Players who would like to pitch and also play another position, the price is $399 to participate.

Typically, the full event itinerary will be emailed to you one week prior to the event date. We finalize the schedule and make necessary adjustments based on several factors, including the final number of players attending, the number of specific positions, etc.

The Area Code ID Series will be held rain or shine but if it is raining, look for messaging for a possible alternative event site.
